The 16″ KS-4 is the next generation of SR-15s from Knight’s Armament, improving upon the Mod 2 with the new URX6 rail and fully ambidextrous controls.
The KAC KS-4 SR-15’s 16” chrome lined, 5.56mm NATO barrel is manufactured to military specifications, features a proprietary mid-length gas system that increases reliability and durability while also reducing felt recoil, and is free-floated inside a URX 6 handguard. An E3.2 round-lug bolt design both enhances function and increases bolt life far beyond the industry standard. On top of featuring a lobster-tail extractor for more reliable extraction, the E3.2 bolt features dual ejectors — ensuring positive ejection when utilizing suppressors.

A now fully ambidextrous bolt release, selector, and magazine release offer left-handed users the ergonomic advantages inherent to AR15-based controls. The drop-in two-stage trigger serves double duty as an aid to precision marksmanship while enabling surgical speed shooting at close range. The 5.56mm 3-Prong Flash Eliminator interferes with propellant gas combustion forward of the muzzle to significantly reduce flash signature, will not ring upon firing or when struck, and is compatible with the KAC line of 5.56mm QDC Signature Reduction Devices.

Materials & Finish: Unlike traditional suppressors that manage trapped gas, intense heat and pressure with blast baffles, OSS’s Flow-Through technology redirects expanding gases forward allowing us to use 17-4 stainless steel deflectors and internal Grade 5 Titanium coils.  The result is a remarkably cooler and extremely durable suppressor. The HX-QD 556 has a fully-welded outer body made of 17-4 heat treated stainless steel coated with C-series high temperature black Cerakote®.

Sound Pressure Levels:  The HX-QD 556 is the optimal choice for the widest range of 5.56 caliber rifles.  Sound pressure levels are measured at the shooters ear to comply with current military specifications:
  • 130 – 134 dB on 20” AR15 DI using commercial grade 55 gr ammo
  • 133 – 137 dB on 16” AR15 DI using commercial grade 55 gr ammo
  • 138 – 142 dB on 10.5” AR15 DI using commercial grade 55 gr ammo
